Ketupat

Ketupat or Kupat or packed rice are typical dishes based maritime Southeast Asia rice wrapped in a wrapper made of woven palm leaves (leaf) are still young. Ketupat is most prevalent at the time of the celebration Fitr, when Muslims celebrate the end of the fasting month.

Typical food using the ketupat, such as Tofu Kupat (Sunda), Grabag (Magelang district), Kupat glabet (Tegal), coto Makassar (from Makassar, rice cake called burasa), lotek, and gado-gado was served with a rice cake or rice cake. Ketupat can also be served to accompany the skewers, rice cake is more common though.

Besides Indonesia, ketupat is also found in Malaysia, Brunei, and Singapore. In the Philippines also found a similar bugnoy ketupat but with different woven patterns.
