This typical orange street mail box is very familiar here in Indonesia. Bis surat or mailbox is translated from the Dutch Brievenbus which is a place or box to send mail addresses which have been given a address and that sufficient stamp. Letters collected in the mailbox regularly collected by the post office for further to chop a stamp placed on the envelope.
Mailbox is usually placed on the roadside. Mailbox at this time is rarely used because there is new technology in sending mail with email.
Now when people communicate more with cell phone, then the existence of the street mailbox was replaced by a pulse stalls. People no longer look for stores that sell stamps when they want to send and exchange messages, but they look for a pulse stalls whenever they ran out of pulse.
